Mya is the bucket filler of the week. She was very helpful to her friends at the farm and is helpful in the classroom. Several students have informed me that Mya has done nice things for them. Good Job Mya! We like having a bucket filling classroom!
Our trip to the Wild Pumpkin Patch was very nice. It was a beautiful day and the students had lots of fun. Check out the pictures on the student video page. There is also a new slide show on the featured writing page.
Kyley, Roman and Marlee were bucketfillers this week. They each went out of their way to be kind and helpful to others. They made sure to fill the buckets of many students by helping open milk, saying kind things, helping others with work and by being good friends. They are helping to make our room a great community of learners! Good job!
This year I have signed up for Remind 101. It is a safe way for teachers to email or text parents and students. Teachers do not see the parents phone number and the parents do not see the teachers phone number. The updates are sent out to all the subscribers by the teacher and they are never edited or deleted. Everyone who subscribes will see the message. No one will see anyone's phone number or e-mail. No personal information is shared. I will be using it to send updates on: field trips, projects, positive messages, reminders, etc. To the left are the directions for signing up for Remind101. If you would like to receive classroom updates via e-mail or text, follow the directions and you will be set to receive messages from me. You can get more info at remind101.com.
Just a quick classroom update....Friday's newsletter was sent home today. The copier was down Friday. Also, we are working on writing our first and last names, counting, writing and recognizing numbers to 20, learning concepts of print, using picture clues to help read a story, rules and much more.
Sophie and Hayley were bucket fillers today. They helped another student who was sad and made sure to include her at recess and help her out when she was nervous about going to gym class. Good job girls!
We have been reading the No David books by David Shannon. We read the books and talked about behavior and made rules for our classroom. We also have been hunting for David because he keeps escaping from our room. Be sure to ask your child about David and the places where we have found him.
