Last week, the NED Show came to our school. The NED show is a motivational assembly that promotes positive attitudes and encourages everyone to do their best everyday. The N stands for Never Give Up, the E stands for encourage others, and the D stands for Do your Best. The presenter told a story about Ned the character in the poster and performed yo-yo tricks that were part of the storytelling. Some kids were called up to the front to talk with the presenter, Marlee was called from our class. The kids loved the assembly and many students bought yo-yos this week from NED. The assembly was free to our school and the proceeds from the yo-yo sales goes to pay for NED to go to another school. There are more pictures on the class pictures page. Also, check out the videos page. I have uploaded pictures from our frog day and unit.
We invited parents in to share our frog research project. The students sung 5 Green and Speckled Frogs, The Tadpole Wiggle and retold the Wide-Mouth Frog Story. For families unable to attend, I will be posting videos of the Wide Mouth Frog Retelling next week. We are going to have everyone involved in a retelling and the videos will be posted on the video page next week. I have also uploaded a slideshow to the picture page. Thanks to all the parents and families who attended. The students enjoy entertaining this year.
We have been using the laptops everyday. We have use them for Language Arts and Math. We started with starfall.com and now we are using a math symbaloo created by Matt Gomez. Mr. Gomez is a kindergarten teacher who puts things on the internet to share. Thank you Mr. Gomez! Your child can access websites we use at school from home. I have put all the links to our websites on a blog. The address is: http://siansclass.blogspot.com/. Your child should be able to show you the sites we have used so far this year. Happy Computing!
